Koga is going to be tough. His two Koffings will be the problem because of Selfdestruct. My only hope will be to make sure that Palmer OHKO’s both of them with Confusion. To make sure of this, i want to make sure that he is at least at level 40.
Still making my way back to Lavender Town, I ran into an Aipom. Suffering from numerous Sand Attacks, many attacks missed. Eventually, Vicks managed to land a critical hit and lowered Aipoms hp enough to capture it.
Moveset: Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Astonish, Baton Pass
Backtracking to Lavender Town, I ran into a Masquerain. Quickly catching it, I named it Masquerade (not my best nickname…).
Moveset: Quick Attack, Sweet Scent, Water Sport, Gust
This was the look on my face when i ran into the Weezing. I knew that it had a Selfdestruct in its moveset and it was only a matter of time before it would use it. Palmer started off with a Barrage attack, lowering its hp a little. After a while, Barrage finally got it down to a reasonable bit of hp and i caught it.
Moveset: Smog, Selfdestruct, Sludge, Smokescreen
After receiving the Gold Teeth and HM 03, I used the Super Rod in the lake nearby and a Crawdaunt came up. I threw some bait at it for a bit. After trying a couple balls, i threw a rock, fearing it would run away. It didnt, so i threw another ball and caught Shiprok.
Moveset: Leer, Bubblebeam, Protect, Knock Off
This Sentret was a complete accident. I through a ball at it on the first move expecting it to run away later. But it stayed in the ball and Tertnex joined the ever-growing team
Moveset: Fury Swipes, Helping Hand, Slam, Follow Me
In the next section, I had made it almost all the way through without encountering a Pokemon. Then a Rapidash appeared. I threw some bait at it and eventually caught it with a Safari Ball.
Moveset: Growl, Tail Whip, Ember, Stomp
I found myself stumped at how to tackle the Safari Zone. After some research, I found that the common way to apply Nuzlocke rules to the Safari Zone is to count each part as a separate area. So i would get 4 chances to catch a Pokemon. So I count this as one of my luckiest parts through the safari zone. After throwing some rocks at the Bagon, I finally caught it.
Moveset: Bite, Leer, Headbutt, Focus Energy
I made my way towards the Snorlax on Route 12 and because of the randomizer, it had morphed into a Rattata. So joining the team after a hellish battle is Etakitar.
Moveset: Quick Attack, Hyper Fang, Focus Energy, Pursuit.
Now making my way towards Fuchsia City and the Safari Zone. I feel like Palmer will be my best bet for the upcoming gym because of Confusion, so I’ll be using him. Hopefully this gym isnt as disastrous as Celadon City.
Prince. Level 36
moveset: Horn Attack, Peck, Poison Sting, Double Kick
Snowball: level 26
Moveset: Powder Snow, Icy Wind, Headbutt, Bite
Palmer: level 28.
Moveset: Confusion, Hypnosis, Barrage, Stomp
Mega: Level 30
Moveset: Tackle, Cut, Razor Leaf, Synthesis
Vicks: level 27
Moveset: Water Gun, Tackle, Quick Attack, Sand Attack
Kamiya: Level 30
Moveset: Tackle, Quick Attack, Smokescreen, Ember
All in all, i feel pretty ok with this team. The recent losses of Foxy and Nikezalb were tough, and hopefully Kamiya doesnt follow suit with the fire-type dying trend. We’re off to free Mr. Fuji and hopefully catch a whatever the randomizer has replaced Snorlax with.
